Welcome and thanks for visiting!   My name is Marti and I own and run my business.  I have been an animal lover forever - starting as a small child with my first dog, a cocker spaniel.  I've owned and loved many other pets since then including my dogs: Dutchess, Brandy, Bear, and Cleo, and my kitties, Pepi and LuLu. I have also rescued and fostered many dogs.  If I pass a pet in need, I have to reach out and help. 

I am a current and founding member of a non-profit animal welfare group, Kalkaska Citizens for Animals (www.KCAcares.org).Our group has helped to rescue and foster many pets, we've funded countless spay and neuters, as well as provided medical care for those in need.  Through my years with this group, I have fostered many dogs and helped to modify their behavior, restore them to health physically and emotionally, and then placed them in loving, forever homes.

My experience and knowledge with dogs increased greatly while dealing with dogs that were strays or mistreated.  Some had difficult traits to deal with but all have responded well to love, respect, and positive reinforcement training.  

I've completed a dog training and behavior course with Pat Miller, a well respected dog trainer, behaviorist, and author. I've also attended many advanced work shops. 

I use positive reinforcement Clicker Training. It is gentle, effective, and lots of fun!
